Soon My Apartment Will Swallow Me Whole is a piece for Tenor Sax, Vibraphone, Piano, and electric Guitar written for Hypercube as part of the 2020 Hypercube Composition Lab. It uses contrasting resonant and muted gestures in a reflection on impermanence. In particular, through this piece I try to recognize how I often think of the things in my life that are most important to me as being somehow too big to fail when in reality they are transient and vulnerable and require particular care and protection.
